The Missouri Valley Chamber Orchestra Brass Quintet and narrator present The Race, a fresh and vibrant retelling of Aesop’s beloved fable The Hare and the Tortoise, as imagined by composer Gwyneth Walker. Join us for a musical adventure where the quintet will guide you through the fascinating world of brass instruments. With demonstrations of the trumpet, horn, trombone, and tuba, you’ll witness the magic of buzzes, mutes, valves, and slides in action! Special guest Mrs. G from Jeannette Myhre Elementary will invite students to join in simple dance moves to “The Mexican Hat Dance” and “The Chicken Dance.” Get ready to move and groove! Challenge your musical memory with “A Children’s Medley”—how many familiar tunes can you recognize? Finally, snap along to the irresistible “Pink Panther Theme” as we close the show on a playful note. Come experience the fun, movement, and the joy of music with us!
