Program Description

Event Details

Public program on a historical topic specific to Bismarck, North Dakota. The event is free and open to the public to attend.

Walking along our downtown people typically look up: at the buildings, the trees and the bustling people - but have you ever thought about the history under your feet? Come join us to hear about the archaeology of what lies below Bismarck and guess which kid's toy was found in an abandoned storm drain. We will then venture to the south, to share our investigations at University of Mary and look for evidence of the Battle of Apple Creek. Lastly, we will discuss work at the Larson village site just north of our city as well with a display of photographs and reconstructed pottery from the site.
